GMW customer partnership providing positive regional outcomes

Friday 6 February, 2026

Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is continuing to showcase its commitment to 'water for a thriving northern Victoria' thanks to its work with agricultural investment company GO.FARM on helping progress its $90m almond farm development in the Goulburn Valley.

GO.FARM's 'Goulburn Gold' development in Coomboona near Shepparton has seen five former dairy and grazing properties amalgamated into a single property housing the almond farm.

GMW has worked with the company for years to help progress the project including the site amalgamation and relocating service points at the property.

The water corporation has also worked with GO.FARM to help progress a private works licence for the company to undertake works under channels.

GMW's works have provided GO.FARM greater flexibility around water and infrastructure use at the property as needed.

GMW General Manager of Water Delivery Services Warren Blyth said the water corporation's customer relationship with GO.FARM was providing positive outcomes for the region.

"It's fantastic to work alongside companies like GO.FARM who are establishing significant projects in the region," he said.

"Our works to help progress GO.FARM's Coomboona almond farm highlight GMW's commitment to influence and enhance regional outcomes while working with partners and stakeholders.

"It also showcases our commitment to delivering reliable and affordable services for our current and future customers."

GO.FARM's Head of Farmland Development Joe Barlow said it was great to be working with GMW to progress the 'Goulburn Gold' development.

"The GO.FARM Team greatly appreciate the responsiveness from GMW to assist with relocating service points and outlet consolidation, which is a very important part of our developments," he said.

GMW manages, stores and delivers water through approximately 10,000 km of delivery and drainage infrastructure to more than 25,000 active customers in northern Victoria.

The water corporation's customers range from large-scale gravity irrigators to hobby and lifestyle landowners.

Gravity irrigation customers are some of the main users of water in the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District and their enterprises include dairy, horticulture and cropping.
