Have your say about draft future service options for pumped districts
Friday 6 February, 2026
A community session outlining draft future service options for Goulburn-Murray Water's (GMW) pumped irrigation districts will be held on February 26.
GMW is developing a future services strategy for the Nyah, Tresco and Woorinen districts where land and water use has changed significantly over the years.
The districts are also facing challenges associated with aging water infrastructure.
The strategy will cover how each district is considered most likely to progress over the next five to 30 years, and the water infrastructure and service requirements for these future scenarios.
GMW has been working with customers, residents, property owners, businesses and organisations in developing the strategy, including at previous community sessions.
GMW General Manager Strategy and Services Planning Steven Abbott said the upcoming February 26 community session in Swan Hill would provide important updates about the strategy.
"We'll be outlining the draft future service options that have been developed following feedback from customers and community members," he said.
"That includes discussing our technical analysis of those options as well as high-level costings.
"We'll also be seeking further feedback from customers and community members about these draft options which will inform our final decisions for the strategy."
Once the draft options have been further refined, they will be available for community consultation before the strategy is finalised later this year.
Everyone is welcome to attend and contribute to the community session in Swan Hill at the Swan Hill Club on McCallum Street:
• Options and Solutions focused community session, 10am - 1pm, Thursday 26 February
GMW has been partnering with Fifteen50 and JumpLeads in the development of the strategy and the community sessions.
Individuals can find out more information about the strategy, and register to attend the session, on GMW's dedicated engagement platform:
