Changes to Council's waste and recycling services will be coming into effect from 01 July 2026. These changes include:
New calendar for the waste and recycling kerbside collection.
New mobile waste & recycling services.
Updated opening hours and fees for our transfer stations.
Waste & Recycling Calendar
The new 'Waste & Recycling Calendar' has details for the kerbside collection from July 2026 through to June 2027. The calendar is available to download and print from Council's website:

Mobile Waste & Recycling Services
Council's mobile waste and recycling services are the 'Mobile Transfer Station Service' and the 'Little Yellow Wagon Service'. These services provide convenient ways for eligible residents to safely dispose and recycle household waste.

The 'Mobile Transfer Station Service' provides a hard waste collection service to community for a fee. This service is only available to eligible residents who hold a Seniors Card or Disability Health Care Card, or who live in Yaapeet and Patchewollock.
Bookings will open for the 'Mobile Transfer Station Service' from 01 July 2026.
Collections will commence from Thursday, 23 July 2026.

Transfer Stations
Our Shire's transfer stations will have updated opening hours and new fees as of 01 July 2026.

Free disposal remains available to Shire residents for the following items:
Cardboard
- separated from other waste types, small domestic quantities only.
Green Waste
- small trailer/ute, 1 metre³ maximum volume per visit.
Mixed Recyclables
- sorted into types - paper, plastic containers (1, 2, 5), bottles and cans.
E-waste
- all electrical and electronic goods with a cord or a battery.
This free disposal offer will not be available to businesses or commercial entities.

Tuesday to Friday: 8am - 12pm
Saturday: 9am - 12pm
Sunday: 11am - 2pm
Murtoa Transfer Station
Tuesday and Friday: 9am - 12pm
Sunday: 12.30pm - 2pm
Hopetoun Transfer Station
Tuesday: 9am - 12pm
Sunday: 11am - 2pm
Beulah Transfer Station
Wednesday: 9am - 10am
Sunday: 8.30am - 9.30am
Minyip Transfer Station
Wednesday: 10.30am - 11.30am
Sunday: 10.30am - 11.30am
Rupanyup Transfer Station
Wednesday: 9am - 10am
Sunday: 9am - 10am
Woomelang Transfer Station
Wednesday: 10.30am - 11.30am
Sunday: 9am - 10am
Speed / Tempy Transfer Station
Wednesday: 9am - 10am
