Did you know that property owners are generally responsible for maintaining their driveway crossover (vehicle crossing) between the road and their property boundary?
Property Owner Responsibilities
Maintain the driveway crossover and any culvert, end walls, and driveway infill.
Keep loose gravel and driveway material off the road surface.
Obtain a Road Reserve Works Permit before constructing or altering a driveway crossover.
Utilise suitably qualified contractors.
Pay applicable permit and inspection fees.
Council Responsibilities
Maintain any constructed footpath that crosses the driveway crossover.
Assess and issue permits for works within the road reserve.
Help manage safety risks where hazards affect public infrastructure or public safety.
