Mildura has the region's biggest spread of hotels, motels and holiday parks — elsewhere, accommodation thins out fast. Many smaller towns have just a single pub or motel, so it pays to plan ahead. Harvest season (December–April) fills beds across Mildura, Robinvale and Swan Hill fast, as seasonal workers and pickers arrive for citrus, table grapes and other crops. Festival weekends (Sea Lake's Wimmera Machinery Field Days, silo art trail events, agricultural shows) can also book small towns out completely. If you're travelling in these windows, lock in a room well in advance.
