Disability Liaison Officers (DLOs) are police officers who support the disability community to better access police services.

Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) roles

DLOs are police officers that are trained to understand the issues relevant to the disability community.

The work they do in the community includes:

reducing barriers for people with disability when accessing police services

working with the broader disability community in their local area

support their colleagues to better understand issues relevant to the disability community, to increase our disability confidence as an organisation.

You can find DLOs all around Victoria, in every Police Service Area.

DLO logo

Victoria Police DLOs often wear the DLO logo on their uniform as a badge.

The logo features the disability pride flag designed Anna Magill, who has cerebral palsy. She consulted the disability community to design a flag that captures their diverse experiences.

Our Victoria Police DLO logo serves as a reminder of our commitment to support people with disability in our community.

Look out for this logo to identify a DLO. They can support people with disability who need help accessing police services at any time.
